Tournament of the ArmsIn San Gemini the Tournament of the Arms is a folkloristic event taken from the 14th century celebration in honor of the patron saint of the town. Events include a parade, the staging of moments from the town's medieval history and the portrayal of ancient rural and family life. The climax of the event is a contest in which knights from the various quarters compete.

Autumn Events in Trevi celebrates the tenacity and ardor with which the local youth rebuilt the town in 1214. The event involves 20 youths attempting to push a heavy cart in a race against the clock. The Saturday evening before the race there is a historic procession followed by a lively celebration of medieval life which continues late into the night. Trevi also celebrates the Festival of the Black Celery, a specialty product exclusive to Trevi.

The nation venerates St. Francis, the patron saint of Italy, in Assisi. Solemn liturgical ceremonies take place in the Basilica of St. Francis and S. Maria degli Angeli. Public events offer the oil for the votive lamps that burn before the Tomb of St. Francis. Performances of dance and popular songs can also be enjoyed.

Tastings, exhibitions and other events are held in the Sweet Tooth Theater, the International Chocolate Gallery and Chocolate Kiss Square. This unique and varied festival features the biggest names in international candy making.
