Christmas in Umbria. Celebrations, concerts and performances take place in almost all the Umbrian townships during this time. Especially interesting, the many artistic creches constructed with great skill and dedication. Living creches are also enacted in many towns. The Christmas Tree of Gubbio is the largest in the world. Also interesting is the Comet of Miranda in Terni.
Umbria Jazz Winter in Orvieto offers concerts from noon to late at night, in the atmosphere of a spectacular New Year's Day party culminating in a hugh feast on New Years Eve. The New Year's Gospel Concert is held in the magnificent Cathedral.
